Help Feeding South Dakota pack emergency food boxes for neighbors in need!
Help our neighbors in need during the COVID-19 crisis by packing emergency food boxes at Feeding South Dakota's Sioux Falls location that will help feed children and families who need food assistance. Volunteers may also work on other projects that aid in emergency food assistance efforts for South Dakotans.
Key Responsibilities/Training:
Volunteers will pack fresh and nonperishable food items in assembly-line fashion and are spaced/divided into smaller groups within the warehouse to ensure social distancing. Wear layers and closed-toe shoes. Volunteers will be given instructions and training upon arrival and will have staff support and supervision throughout their shift. Please arrive 10 minutes early to sign our volunteer waiver form.
Qualifications:
- Ability to stand and walk for 2-3 hours at a time
- Ability to lift 10 to 30 pounds
Health/Safety:
At Feeding South Dakota, there is no higher priority than the safety of our volunteers and the people we serve. We strive to maintain clean facilities and follow best practices for food safety.
Due to COVID-19, we are taking extra precautions, including increased cleaning of surfaces throughout the day and emphasizing frequent handwashing, use of hand sanitizer and changing of gloves.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 14+, Minimum Age:11+, Court Ordered Volunteer - Allowed
