Genesis Mentor Training
Help families and individuals in poverty by coming along side to help teach basic budgeting, financial, and life skills. The Genesis Program pairs mentors and mentees to meet 12 times over the course of 18 weeks. All training needed is provided by The Community Outreach.
During our Mentor Training, you will:
- discover the Genesis program's primary goals and faith principles
- learn the qualifications for acceptance into the Genesis mentoring program
- review the program curriculum including budget setting, SMART goals, uncovering debt and identifying road blocks
- participate in a group activity to find out if you could survive one month in poverty while upholding your personal values
- gain insight into setting realistic expectations, the impact of mentoring and redefining success
- explore the principles for effective mentoring and characteristics of successful mentor relationships
- receive the tools necessary to begin your role as a Genesis Mentor
