Feeding South Dakota Front Desk Volunteer
Duties/expectations:
Feeding South Dakota front desk volunteers support the Sioux Falls food pantry and distribution center as the first point of contact for visitors to the organization.
- Receiving/greeting/occasionally checking in food pantry guests;
- Receiving/greeting/checking in volunteers;
- Answering the phone, answering questions and directing calls to appropriate office and distribution center staff;
- Completing other administrative and support duties as requested by the volunteer coordinator.
Time commitment:
Shifts are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Feeding South Dakota, 4701 N Westport Ave, Sioux Falls
Qualifications and requirements:
Must be at least 18 years old. Must be willing/able to interact in a pleasant manner with food pantry guests, volunteers and staff. Sedentary work, involving lifting approximately 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like files, paper or small office equipment. This will usually involve sitting for long periods of time, with occasional walking in the food pantry and distribution center areas. Most of the work performed involves operating a computer and telephone.
