Senior Companions of the Black Hills
http://www.good-sam.com/scpsdThe Senior Companion Program supports qualified agencies and organizations for the purposes of: 1. Helping elderly and disabled adults remain living independently in their own homes longer than expected, delaying more expensive long term care, and 2. Engaging persons 55 and older, with limited income in volunteer service to meet critical community needs which provides a high quality experience, enriching the volunteers lives. 3. Providing supportive services to adults with physical, emotional, psychological or other health limitations, especially older persons in an effort to achieve and maintain their highest level of independent living. 4. Paying: an hourly stipend, volunteer meals and transportation plus other benefits which enable eligible persons to participate as Senior Companions without cost to themselves.
