DoubleHP (Horse Help Providers, Inc.)
http://www.newhopehorseshelter.org/DoubleHP is a small group of volunteers in the Sioux Falls area. DoubleHP provides rescue and sanctuary for horses, and equine assisted learning & natural horsemanship for humans. We encourage continuing education among all humans who own and care for horses. Horse Help Providers, Inc. (DoubleHP), a 501c3 nonprofit organization, has received Sanctuary Status from the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries (GFAS). DoubleHP, the first GFAS Sanctuary in South Dakota, has helped to rescue, rehab, and rehome hundreds of horses during the past 10 years. And now, fourteen rescued horses have a permanent sanctuary home with DoubleHP at their New Hope Horse Shelter near Crooks, SD. So, our opportunities are twofold. First, we care for our sanctuary horses and second, we provide learning opportunities for humans, and the best teachers are our sanctuary horses. So they are involved in all of our learning sessions. These rescued horses participate in programs such as equine assisted learning (communication, personal growth & learning, teambuilding, etc.). This can also become counseling, therapy, psychotherapy, when a licensed professional is involved in the session. Our horses also participate in natural horsemanship activities (both riding and ground exercises available). People do not have to have any previous experience with horses to participate in these programs. Our horses will show you everything you need to know about life. Donations to help feed these sanctuary horses may be made to DoubleHP, 25337 470 Ave, Crooks SD 57020.
