The mission of Active Generations is to promote positive aging for older adults and to enhance the quality of life for all generations through programs, services and education. Active Generations provides services for older and active adults through three distinct programs. #1. Nutrition: The adult nutrition program serves nutritious noon meals week days in communities throughout southeastern South Dakota. Meals are served in group dining sites to promote socialization with others or delivered by volunteers to homebound individuals unable to prepare a meal themselves, known as Meals on Wheels. Anyone 60 years and older is eligible. #2. Day Break Adult Day Services: Day Break is an adult day program targeted for families looking for a safe homelike environment for their loved one. Day Break offers a supervised environment with top-quality health monitoring as well as a dedicated professional staff. Assistance with personal care needs is available. Participants can enjoy a day full of many activities, some which include; daily exercise, discussion groups, educational programs, hobbies and special interest programs. #3 Recreation & Leisure Programs: Membership at Active Generations is open to adults over 18 years of age and is open 6 days a week for members to participate in a wide variety of programs which include: a fully equipped exercise room, fitness & wellness classes, art classes, SeniorNet Computer Learning Center, card clubs, educational clubs - over a dozen special interest clubs, one-day trips, social events and much more.
