Purple Stride Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS TO TURN PURPLE, RAISE FUNDS FOR FIGHTING WORLD’S TOUGHEST CANCER
WHAT: The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) invites the media to PurpleStride Sioux Falls “The Walk to End Pancreatic Cancer,” presented by Mattress Firm. In its urgent mission to save lives and double survival by 2020, PanCAN is the only organization addressing pancreatic cancer through research, clinical initiatives, patient services and advocacy.
Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death in the U.S. with a five-year survival rate of just 9 percent. Every day, 152 mothers, daughters, fathers, sons, sisters, brothers, colleagues and friends are expected to hear the dreaded news of their diagnosis.
PanCAN urges the Sioux Falls community to Demand Better for patients and survival at PurpleStride®. Funds raised through the event support critical research, clinical initiatives and patient services, including Know Your Tumor®, Precision PromiseSM, Clinical Trial Finder and the Patient Registry.
PurpleStride Sioux Falls is one of 55 PurpleStride events taking place across the country this year. PurpleStride events raised nearly $12 million for the cause last year.
