Kids FIRST Free Vision Screenings

LifeSight, based in Rapid City, provides free Kids FIRST vision screenings in elementary schools and is the vision screening provider for Rapid City Area Schools (RCAS). Volunteers are needed to assist with vision screenings and assemble mailings. Volunteers are required to complete a Kids FIRST Volunteer Application, background check, orientation, and RCAS Volunteer Information Form. Must be able to hold a small camera-like device steady to administer screenings (training provided), adapt to various screening circumstances, and work with children. Screenings are scheduled weekday mornings, September to May. Schedules are provided monthly with volunteers able to select dates they wish to volunteer.
