Field Support Volunteers play a critical role in ensuring the safety, coordination, and success of hunting activities at Wings of Valor Lodge. These volunteers assist with clay shoot operations, walk and block hunts, and general field logistics while maintaining a safe and respectful environment for our veteran guests.
Duties: Assist with clay shoot setup, safety supervision, and guest support. Participate in walk and block hunts by serving as a blocker or general field support. Ensure firearms are handled safely and in accordance with South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks regulations. Provide respectful peer-to-peer interaction and situational awareness for guests who may have physical or emotional needs. Monitor field conditions, assist with transportation of gear as needed, and support staff with communication and logistics.
Skills, Experience & Abilities: Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety at all times. Ability to walk uneven terrain and be outdoors in variable weather conditions. Respectful and professional demeanor, particularly in interactions with veterans. Knowledge of hunting safety or firearm handling is beneficial; training will be provided. Ability to work as a team and respond calmly under pressure.
