HALO provides a unique volunteer opportunity for individuals who have a heart for children in foster care and/or children who have been adopted. Each child (ages 5-7 and 8-12) enrolled in the HALO Project is assigned their own personal buddy.
Role of the Buddy:
- Provide one-on-one positive nurturing interactions during organized HALO night events.
- Serve as a role model for behavior and offer a secure base for the child to explore social, attachment, and sensory-rich activities.
- Engage with the child in activities such as crafting, snacking, reading, and playing, as well as participating in group activities.
- Utilize laughter and joy to promote a safe, nurturing environment for children to learn, explore, create, and heal.
- 10 week commitment
2 hour on-demand training and a background check are required
