Each year, thousands of people across the country join the Walk MS volunteer team. From serving on planning committees and calling past participants to providing safety and support for walkers at the event, volunteers make Walk MS happen, and are the foundation of why Walk MS is the inspiring event it is. This year's walk will be on Saturday, May 20th, beginning at Cherry Rock Park.
Families, corporate groups, and individuals are encouraged and welcome to volunteer. There are many opportunities to volunteer – we guarantee we can find a place for you! Groups and individuals of all ages and abilities are invited to volunteer. We are always looking for youth clubs, corporate, and service-oriented community groups to lend a hand before, during, and after our events. (Some volunteer positions require a criminal and/or DMV background check, and some may involve driving or heavy lifting.)
When you volunteer, you become part of the MS movement—a collective of passionate individuals, moving together to create a world free of MS. Together we provide support, have fun, and make a difference in the lives of people living with MS.
Set up starts at 6:30 with the set up of the registration area, our VIP area and help with vendor location. We also need volunteers to assist marking our routes the morning of the event.
Route volunteers will be out on our route from 8:30 am to 1 pm. The duties included in this postion would be to assist our walkers, so they know where to walk. We have 2 different lengths of routes our short route is 1 mile, our longer route is 3 miles.
