Description

Make a Meaningful Connection with Someone Special

Black Hills Works empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to fully participate in our community through a variety of supportive services. As a One-on-One Friendship Volunteer, you'll have the rewarding opportunity to develop a genuine connection with an individual we support.

This person-centered volunteer role is perfect for compassionate individuals who value meaningful relationships. You'll spend quality time with your matched friend engaging in activities you both enjoy - whether that's taking walks together, working on puzzles, playing games, reading, or simply sharing conversation. Sometimes, being a good listener is the greatest gift you can give.

By dedicating just a couple of hours each month, you'll

  • Create joy through shared experiences
  • Foster independence and community connection
  • Develop a rewarding friendship that enriches both lives
  • Make a lasting difference in someone's life

If you enjoy laughing, smiling, and building authentic relationships, this volunteer opportunity is for you! The moments you share will become highlights of the week for both you and the person you support.
