Help creativity flourish. Inspire artists. Make a difference.
The Suzie Cappa Art Center (SCAC), a program of Black Hills Works, is home to talented artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities who create, learn, and share their work with our community. As an Art Studio Volunteer, you'll help create an encouraging, welcoming studio where artists can explore their creativity and express themselves through art. Whether you're chatting with artists while they work, helping organize supplies, assisting with projects, or lending a hand during exhibits and special events, your time helps make our studio a place where creativity thrives.
Volunteers aren't just helping at an art center. They're becoming part of a working studio where talented artists are creating original pieces every day. Volunteer opportunities include:
- Assisting artists during studio time
- Organizing art supplies and donated materials
- Helping prepare for exhibits and special events
- Supporting a fun, welcoming creative environment
No art experience is needed! If you enjoy meeting new people, encouraging creativity, and making a positive impact, we'll provide the training and support you need.
Why you'll love volunteering at SCAC:
- Experience the joy and power of creative expression.
- Get to know talented local artists and celebrate their accomplishments.
- Share your time in a positive, inspiring environment.
- Help make the arts accessible and inclusive for everyone.
Whether you can volunteer once a week or just a few hours each month, your time makes a lasting impact.
