Black Hills Raptor Center

We champion the protection of native raptors and conservation of their natural habitats through education, rescue, and rehabilitation.

Our vision is to inspire the citizens of South Dakota to understand and appreciate the cohesive environment and native birds of prey through interactive high-quality education programs.  These programs focus on raptors, raising awareness and inspiring the community to become stewards of our environment and foster awareness to sustain our natural world. 

When injured birds of prey are discovered/reported, BHRC will aid citizens and volunteers with information to rescue, treat, and provide compassionate rehabilitation services, and release raptors back into their native environment.

The BHRC is building a state-of-the-art center to improve our capability to conduct conservation education, raptor rehabilitation, and partnerships for raptor research.
