Who We Are

Our mission is to support individuals experiencing trauma due to houselessness or suicide loss in the Rapid City area of South Dakota through critical incident response, collaborative street outreach, case management, and culturally responsive programming.

What We Do

The Street Outreach team provides daily outreach for the distribution of basic necessities of food, water, hygiene products, and assistance to community service partners and medical transportation. The Youth Outreach program consists of three programs: STEPS, Safe Passage and High Risk Intervention. The STEPS (Support Team Encouraging Perseverance and Strength) program is focused on working with houseless youth ages 16-24 years old. Safe Passage provides safety for youth as they travel to and from school through a trusted adult presence designed to be there for the youth and their families. In the 2023-2024 school year, we will focus on General Beadle, Knollwood Elementary and North Middle School. High Risk Intervention provides at-risk youth (involved in violent or gang-related activities) with positive, youth related activities and mentorship. The LOSS (Local Outreach to Suicide Survivors) Team and Suicide Support Services are dedicated to providing postvention support in He Sapa (Sacred Black Hills) of South Dakota to those who have tragically lost a loved one to suicide through crisis response, long-term support programming, and prevention training.
