Who We Are
Senior Health information and Insurance Education (SHIINE) is a federally funded program that provides free, confidential, and unbiased information and assistance to Medicare beneficiaries and/or their families. Volunteers are an essential component to the success of the SHIINE program. Volunteer opportunities can be year round or just during Open Enrollment.
What We Do
The SHIINE program operates with a variety of volunteer opportunities. SHIINE volunteer roles include:

* Presenter/Community Liaison: This role is responsible for delivering presentations/educational events at designated outreach locations, and traveling to partner counties to distribute materials. May require some training.
* Counselor: This role involves direct discussions with beneficiaries and/or family members. It typically includes review of personal information such as medications, billing statements, Medicare summary notices etc. This position requires trust and confidentiality as well as detailed training.
