Who We Are
Siouxland Heritage Museums encompasses three buildings, all devoted to collecting, preserving, and interpreting history. All our sites are free, open to the public, and wheelchair accessible. Our locations are:
The Old Courthouse Museum (200 W Sixth St), built in 1890, now serves as a museum of regional history. Visitors can explore the beautifully-restored building and three floors of exhibits that change regularly.
The Pettigrew Home and Museum (131 N Duluth Ave) is a Victorian-era home that Richard Franklin Pettigrew owned from 1911-1926. He added a museum to the back of the home and left it to the city of Sioux Falls. Today, visitors can see museum galleries and tour the historic house.
The Irene Hall Museum Resource Center (4300 N Westport Ave) opened in 2018 to hold the vast collections of Siouxland Heritage Museums. The public can consult these items, which range from photos and archival sources to large three-dimensional artifacts, to aid in their historic research.
