Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) matches adults 55 and over with volunteer opportunities, utilizing their talents, expertise, and life-long experiences to address critical community needs.
Helpline RSVP assists residents of Minnehaha, Lincoln, Turner and Union Counties find meaningful volunteer placements. When you volunteer, you’re not just helping others, you’re helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
Helpline RSVP supports senior volunteer activities in areas including disaster services, economic opportunity, education, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, and veterans and military families. RSVP is part of the Senior Corps, which is a program of the Corporation for National and community Service, an independent federal agency that promotes community service.
As an enrolled RSVP member, you are covered by supplementary accident and liability insurance, at no cost to you. Although this is not a substitute for your own insurance coverage, it covers you in case of personal injury to yourself or others while you are working at your assignment, as well as while you are on your way to and from your volunteer site.
Helpline RSVP holds volunteer recognition events for all active RSVP volunteers. This is a time for volunteers, RSVP staff, advisory council members and community representatives to celebrate the dedicated service of RSVP volunteers and their contributions to the community.
Contact our RSVP Project Coordinator at (605) 274-1420 or rsvp@helplinecenter.org for more information or to sign up as a RSVP Volunteer.
