Fostering Hope
http://www.FosteringHopeSD.orgCreating life-changing moments through God’s love for South Dakota foster children and other children in need so they can believe, dream and discover new hope for their future. We will develop and promote faith-based opportunities including week-long camps, mentoring clubs and weekend retreats that will positively impact those we serve. Established in 2014, Fostering Hope is an answer to the cry of foster children in South Dakota -- children who have had everything taken from them by no choice of their own and left with next to no hope – that is until they attended Royal Family KIDS Camp, a one-week overnight summer camp especially designed for the unique needs of foster children ages 6-12. After one week of camp, these children experience a paradigm shift as they experience life-changing moments guided by adult volunteers who believe in them and their future. But what happens after they turn 12 and age-out of camp? Every 12-year-old says the same thing: “Don’t drop us. You have to do something.” Answering this call, a team of volunteers dedicated to the needs of South Dakota's foster children united their efforts to start Fostering Hope, a faith-based non-profit organization that reaches out to South Dakota's children of foster care ages 6-18+ through special events, retreats and week-long camps. Fostering Hope provides an environment of personal discovery and development for children of foster care, addressing basic life skills, physical health, spiritual awareness, financial literacy, relationships and an goal planning.
