It is a private non-profit corporation. It assists persons of all ages with developmental disabilities, mental illness and other disabilities in areas of abuse, neglect and rights violations in facilities and other service areas including, but not limited to, special education, housing, vocational rehabilitation, discrimination based on disability, voting, Social Security, and other benefits. Persons with disabilities, parents, guardians, attorneys, professionals and others concerned about the rights of persons with disabilities are encouraged to contact South Dakota Advocacy Services.
