Polar Plunge Volunteers
The Polar Plunge is an annual fundraiser presented by South Dakota Law Enforcement as part of the year-round Law Enforcement Torch Run events to benefit Special Olympics. Polar Plunges offer individuals, organizations, and businesses a unique opportunity to support Special Olympics South Dakota athletes by raising money and jumping into frigid waters. The 2024 Plunge will take place on Thursday, January 18 at the Special Olympics Unify Center, located at 800 E. I-90 Lane, Sioux Falls. Registration is at 5:00pm and Plunging begins at 6:30pm. Participants raise a minimum of $100 and take a dip into the frigid waters at one of our event locations. Too chicken? You can still participate in all the fun! Simply register as "Too Chicken to Plunge" and get donations just like a regular Plunger. You will still get a t-shirt and an incentive -- you just don't have to jump into the water. To express interest, click below. For more information, contact Law Enforcement Torch Run Event Manager Michelle Paulson at mpaulson@sosd.org or call (605) 214-7762.
