Health education programs covering a variety of topics are provided by community volunteers and community health agencies.
Program Delivery Methods
How it Works
Volunteers from the community and local health agencies come into the jail regularly to provide informational sessions. Examples include educational sessions on human sexuality, reproduction, birth control, STDs/HIV, and referral to other appropriate community resources and service providers; educational programs on prevention include protection, and early detection of sexually transmitted diseases; other health programs include information of healthy nutrition, caloric content of common foods, and the benefits of eating wisely.
