Sioux Falls Winter Carnival returns
Saturday, February 6-13, 2021 with nine days jam packed with events for all ages. We'll bring back old favorites and introduce new events!
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire is seeking volunteers that are interested in helping with our outdoor Glice Rink during the Sioux Falls Winter Carnival, February 6th-14th. The rink will be open from 5pm-8pm Monday-Friday, 10am-8pm Saturday, and 12-6 on Sunday. Our Glice rink is an ice skating rink made of synthetic material imported from Switzerland. Volunteers DO NOT NEED to skate or even put skates on. The primary responsibilities of Glice rink volunteers are; help keep skates organized & sanitized, assist visitors with finding their skate size and signing participation waivers, supervising the rink and contacting the appropriate person if any problems arise.
The pop-up Glice rink is an important feature of the Winter Carnival which supports the mission of our organization right here in this community. The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire supports youth of all ages. We provide resources, care, and community connections for families with children from birth up to age 18 and various needs. From childcare to food assistance, tutoring to workforce development, the Boys and Girls Clubs serves approximately 1,200 youth each day. The Winter Carnival is our largest fundraiser of the year and cannot function without the assistance of volunteers.
