Safe Families Coach
Family coaches are trained volunteers who help families in crisis reach their goals. Family Coaches also provide support to Host Families and Family Friends who are aiding families in crisis.
Family Coach requires application, background checks and 5 hours of online training. The Family Coach supports the placing parent, monitors the safety and well-being of the child in hosting, supports the host family as they care for the child, and plans for the end of hosting. They are the primary contact for both the placing parent and the host family, ensuring a successful relationship between both. Time commitment is between 2-5 hours per week during an active hosting arrangement which on average lasts 45 days.
