Schedule Tax Appointments
The Helpline Center is looking for volunteers to help individuals over the phone schedule their tax appointments. The tax appointments are through the AARP TaxAide Foundation. They offer free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns.
How it would work is, individuals in need would call 211. Our Call Center Staff would transfer these calls to the volunteers and the volunteers would fill out an online form with the callers information (name, address, etc) to get them register for a tax appointment.
We would like volunteers to sign up for a minimum of a 2 hour shift but they welcome to stay longer. If interested, please contact Kimmins at kimminss@helplinecenter.org or dial 211 and ask for Kimmins.
