Survivor’s Day Event Volunteers

We are in need of volunteers to help with the Survivor’s Day event, which will be held on November 18th. The Helpline Center is holding the Luminaries for a Loved Life event for survivors of suicide on November 18th at Augustana University. The event will begin at 4pm when survivors are welcome to create a luminary in rememberance of their loved one. The bags and supplies for decorating the luminaries will be provided. Families are invited to bring personal items to decorate the bags if they wish. The luminaries will be placed along a pathway during the Remembrance Ceremony, which will take place at 5pm. We will need volunteers to help place the luminaries.

After the ceremony, survivors will be invited to join the Luminary Walk and remember the lives of those lost to suicide. The event will conclude with a time of gathering with refreshments at the Augustana Humanities Building Atrium, located at 2120 S. Grange Avenue in Sioux Falls.
