Opportunities From: Helpline Center Volunteer Connections

Camp is always open to volunteers looking to help in various ways. Depending on the groups, we may be open to some extra help in the kitchen, or with general maintenance ie; staining cabins, helping to fill holes in the field (trip hazards), light maintenance on the grounds &/or facilities, etc. This year, with the recent storm, there will be needs in other areas. Contact Sherry, the Camp Manager to confirm, as we have a contract with the Forest Service & proudly part of the National Historical Registry. We may need an approval process prior to larger projects / groups. Each Spring we do a 'Camp Cleanup Weekend' to prepare for the hundreds of kids / families / groups coming to enjoy the magic of camp. Additionally, each Fall, we do an annual Fall Volunteer Day to sadly... close up for the season.  We can always find a place for volunteers &/or volunteer groups! 

Please contact Sherry prior to the 'work day.' She will need to coordinate project prep, tools, stain / paint, etc. 

Also, if interested, the Board of Directors meets on the camp property this day as well. Feel free to ask q's about more ways to help 'give back' to a place that has given so much to so many. (Several members of the Board will be present). 

We sustained significant damage from severe winds in December. Volunteers (& groups) are needed to help with cleanup efforts so the camp can be ready to welcome campers this summer. Volunteer tasks include, but are not limited to: cutting & removal of risky trees, fallen trees, gathering limbs& branches, helping to load onto trailers for removal, etc. Experience with safe handling of a chainsaw is a bonus, but not required, as there is much to do.
