Do you enjoy cooking and want to share your delicious creations with adults supported by LifeScape?   “The secret ingredient in cooking, is always Love.”  LifeScape supports adults in 39+ residential locations.  A homemade meal made with love is exactly what lifts spirits and inspires people!

 

Whip up your favorite recipe, side dish, dessert, or try a new recipe and then schedule to drop it off at an assigned LifeScape Home.   All mealtime recipes welcomed such as casseroles, one dish meals, tacos, family traditions, soups, chilis, pastas, vegetables, fruit dishes, and more.  This can be an on-going cooking opportunity or a one-time opportunity.

Or if you would like to come to LifeScape home and teach a few people to cook your recipe?  We would love to invite you to our house to do some cooking together!  We welcome individual volunteers and/or 2-3 volunteers in our home to cook with us!

LifeScape’s Mission is Empowering people to live their best life.  Music is very empowering and we invite you to share your musical talents at LifeScape!  No experience or musical expertise required, all voices are beautiful!  Let’s sing together! 

Bring a small (2-3 people) or large group (3-15people) of friends to LifeScape to create a time of music and memories by singing holiday favorites and everyday favorites. We welcome acapella voices and/or musical accompaniment (bells, recordings, speakers, guitars, etc) as you share the classical kid and religious favorite holiday songs.

LifeScape’s Mission is to empowering people to live their best life. 

Would you enjoy the opportunity to help with members of the Deaf community in a welcoming, supportive environment or maybe the opportunity to greatly improve receptive and expressive skills in ASL? LifeScape is in search of Sign Language/spoken English friends to assist in the communication between hearing individuals and the Deaf or hard-of-hearing.  Spend time together in leisure activities at person’s home or meet out in the community for fun opportunities. Days and times can vary according to everyone’s schedules.  Typically spending 1.5 -2.5hrs per time together.

 

Qualifications:

 1. Be compassionate, friendly, caring, patient, and dependable

 2.  Awareness of Deaf culture and ability to communicate with adults who use American Sign              Language in a variety of signing levels and styles.

 3. Good organization and time management skills.

4.  Dedication to dates established to get together.

5.  Willingness to try various leisure activities of interest to person supported by LifeScape.

LifeScape’s Wish Tree shines kindness and light into people’s hearts by granting a unique and special wish, specifically requested by a child or adults with disabilities supported by LifeScape.    Due to financial limitations or no family support, specific children and adults supported by LifeScape have been identified as not receiving any Christmas presents. Everyone deserves to feel special over the holidays and you can help make their Christmas filled with joy!

Timelines:  November 3, 2025 through Dec 14, 2025, email  VolunteerServices@LifeScapeSD.org  to request a unique wish list for a child or adult supported or ask questions.  Deadline to turn in gifts, December 17, 2025.

There are many ways to spread cheer this holiday season:

·         Purchase gifts from store: Request wishes that can be emailed to you per your request of quantity and cost.  Please wrap the gift, write your name on the tag, and deliver gift back to LifeScape.

·         Wish Trees can be located at community business partners such as Fourteen Foods Dairy Queen, Atoley Salon, Last Stop CD Shop, and more.  Please wrap the gift, write your name on the tag, and deliver gift back to community tree. 

If you do not enjoy shopping and wrapping gifts,

LifeScape is looking for a "Big Brother" mentor to be a support and friend for a young adult male at the Children's Campus.

Student is in his late teens and enjoys Sports, Legos and other various activities. He loves being active and learning. So someone willing to learn together, talk sports and being active would be ideal.
He is big fan of Video Games, going out to eat, painting and various other things.

Do you want to use your ‘Sewing Super Powers’ to help ensure children and adults with disabilities have the fabric ‘tools’ to be successful everyday?

 

No need to be a master seamstress but an interest in helping and following pattern instructions to create needed, daily items.

LifeScape will have the sewing instructions and all the supplies, we just need your sewing skills to create and adapt to specific needs.

 

LifeScape has a variety of sewing needs such as (in order of need)

1.      Lunchtime t-shirt protectors (towels sewn under a t-shirt front). It’s easy!

2.      Ponchos for warmth and weather protector (child and adult sizes)

3.      Fabric covers for wheelchair lap trays

4.      Absorbent, long toddler bibs with snaps

5.      Medical adaptations of undershirts

6.      Pillow cases of all sizes (for repositioning)

7.      Patching seams and fixing hems

8.      Sewing on LifeScape Girl Scout Troop badges to vests/sashes

9.      Adapt sheets to fit crib sheet sizes

10.Alter Prom Dress straps

11.And more as needs arise.
