Description

Be part of Rapid City’s Real America Birthday Bash by helping support the America’s 250th Birthday 5K Freedom Run! This community event will conclude five days of celebrations that include concerts, a parade, drone show, downtown festival and fireworks, . Volunteers are needed to help ensure runners and walkers have a safe, organized, and enjoyable experience on race morning.

Volunteer assignments may include:

Assisting with runner check-in and packet distribution
Helping set up start/finish line areas and event signage
Supporting water stations along the course
Assisting with route monitoring and runner direction
Cheering on participants and helping create a positive race atmosphere
Helping with light clean-up following the event

About the Run

The 5K Freedom Run begins at 7:30 AM at Memorial Park and is hosted by Black Hills Runners Club and Black Hills Running Company. The race course follows the bike path corridor and celebrates America’s 250th birthday with a fun, patriotic atmosphere for runners and walkers of all ages.

Additional Information

No prior experience is needed. Volunteers will receive instructions upon arrival and will be assigned to a team based on event needs. This is a fun and meaningful way to celebrate Independence Day weekend while helping create a successful community event.
