We’re looking for reliable and compassionate volunteers to serve as Meal Transport Volunteers for our Center for Families. This role involves picking up the prepared lunch meal from the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House (downtown location) and delivering it to our Center for Families around 3:00 PM each weekday but Tuesday. Though it's lunch, the meal is served as dinner at our center.
Duties Include:
- Arrive at Bishop Dudley around 2:45–3:00 PM to pick up the prepared meal
- Transport the meal to the Center for Families
- Coordinate with shelter staff upon arrival to ensure the food is ready for serving
- No serving required—just a timely and dependable delivery!
Requirements:
- Access to a vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift and carry food containers (moderate weight)
- Promptness and dependability
- Friendly, respectful attitude—you're a key part of the chain of care!
This role is perfect for someone who has a short window of time but wants to make a meaningful impact. By delivering the evening meal, you’re directly supporting families experiencing homelessness with nourishment and dignity.
