We’re looking for early risers with a heart for service to join our Wake-Up Call Volunteer Team. These volunteers play a crucial role in making sure mornings at the shelter run smoothly and respectfully for our guests.
Morning Duties (before 8:00 AM):
- Gently wake up guests so they can be on time for breakfast at The Banquet
- Help make the morning coffee
- Fill water jugs and distribute them throughout the shelter
- Answer phones and assist with simple inquiries
- Pitch in wherever needed to ensure a peaceful and organized start to the day
Guest Check-In (8:00–9:00 AM):
- Assist staff during morning check-in, helping distribute towels, toiletries, and bed linens
- Provide guests with necessities for showers, laundry, and other daily needs
- Help maintain a welcoming and safe environment for everyone entering the building
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older to volunteer during check-in
- Able to arrive early in the morning (shift starts at 6:00 AM)
- Dependable, respectful, and comfortable working with vulnerable populations
Training provided—no prior experience needed
