Some of the pets brought to the shelter are in need of extra care and attention. These pets are placed in foster homes until they are ready to be placed up for adoption. Some circumstances which would demand a foster home would be animals that arrive at the shelter pregnant or nursing, orphans and animals removed for cruelty reasons. Homes which foster rescued animals need to understand that they may be caring for the animal for an undetermined period of time, and that there is a chance the animals may not become available for adoption.
