Hope Haven International Ministries has sent 150,000 wheelchairs to 109 countries over the last 30 years. When we started sending wheelchairs, we realized that there was a shortage of children's wheelchairs. As a result, we partnered with Dordt University to create a pediatric wheelchair for children with Cerebral Palsy. We now manufacture this wheelchair in Northwest Iowa and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This chair has become very popular among those in developing countries and we need volunteers to come and cut materials needed for wheelchair production. We have the scissors, markers, and Naugahyde needed to complete this task. Please let us know if this is of interest to you, and we would love to talk with you about it! We are in need of some people who know how to sew or willing to learn how to sew to put together pieces of the Hope Haven Kid Chair. We have everything you need to get started; materials, a sewing machine, etc. and would be willing to train. Hope Haven International has sent 150,000 wheelchairs to 109 countries worldwide to impoverished adults and children. Without a wheelchair, many disabled individuals are confined to their homes; only able to enjoy their communities by being carried around by their family members. Having a wheelchair gives the recipient hope, opportunities they never thought possible and unthinkable joy. When we started sending chairs, we realized that we weren't receiving many wheelchairs for children. As a result, we partnered with Dordt University to create the Hope Haven Kid Chair. This chair has been sent all over the world and is heavily sought after.

Hope Haven International Ministries has an exciting new volunteer shop in Brookings, SD. At this shop we will be refurbishing wheelchairs to be repurposed and given a new life. This job is trainable and will be very easy to catch on. There is no time commitment for this opportunity, we just ask that you let us know if you plan on coming so that we can ensure someone is available to work with you! Come help make a difference in the lives of others!

You will help fabricate wheelchair parts using drills, saws, and varied machinery. We will train. These wheelchairs will go to children around the world improving quality of life and giving access to possibilities. We box these wheelchair parts and send them overseas to help provide jobs for those with disabilities or related to people with disabilities. Please come and help change lives.
