Volunteer: Thrift Store Merchandise Volunteer (Children’s Apparel)

Volunteers in this role will help prepare children’s clothing for the sales floor by hanging, tagging, pricing, and organizing items at the Club for Boys Thrift Store. Volunteers are expected to work independently after basic instruction. A minimum commitment of two hours per shift is required. This position is designed for individual volunteers rather than groups.

...............................................................................................................................................................

The thrift store plays a vital role in directly supporting the Club for Boys and its mission to provide a safe, caring, and fun after‑school environment for youth ages 6–17 in our community. Proceeds from the store help fund programs and services that keep annual membership affordable at just $12 per year, ensuring that cost is never a barrier for families who need support.

Revenue generated through the thrift store helps provide nutritious meals, age‑appropriate activity spaces, gyms, sports leagues, and an outdoor program that encourages connection, confidence, and healthy development. These resources allow the Club to offer a welcoming place where kids can learn, grow, and feel a sense of belonging during critical after‑school hours.

In addition to financial support, the thrift store strengthens community involvement by offering volunteer opportunities that directly contribute to youth services. Every donated item processed and sold helps create opportunities for young people to build skills, stay active, and thrive in a safe, supportive environment. The thrift store is more than a retail space — it is a key part of sustaining a life‑changing resource for kids in our community.

Support:

·        Training and instructions provided by our Community Partnership staff.

·        Staff available for questions, if necessary.
