Do you have a passion for the outdoors and are interested in introducing others to the outdoors? Become an Education Assistant Volunteer at the Outdoor Campus! Share your outdoor skill knowledge with others by helping with classes like fishing, hunting, archery, kayaking, outdoor cooking, and more.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

v  Help with setting up and cleaning up class materials with Outdoor Campus staff.

v  Communicate and interact with park visitors and program participants.

v  Distribute class materials and equipment.

v  Assist with classes such as archery, BB Guns, kayaking, outdoor cooking, and more.

v  Aid with classroom management and ensure safety during programming.

v  Assist with tasks such as baiting fishing hooks, fitting life jackets, archery/BB gun range safety, etc.

v  Other duties as assigned

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Volunteers must be at least 12 years old. Youth volunteers are required to commit to at least 25 hours of service in a year. Adults are required to commit to at least 50 hours of service. Must be comfortable working in a variety of weather conditions, ranging from cold and snowy to hot and humid. Must be comfortable working with small animals and insects (worms, fish, etc.). Must be able to work with people of various ages and backgrounds. Background screenings are required for applicants 18 years or older. Training is provided.

Are you great at first impressions? The Outdoor Campus is seeking volunteers to be welcoming faces to visitors at our facility. Front Desk volunteers are responsible for greeting guests, answering questions, and directing visitors to various areas and people in the building.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

v  Greet guests visiting the Outdoor Campus

v  Provide information on the Outdoor Campus’ mission, programs, trails, etc.

v  Answer visitors’ questions. If you cannot answer the question, direct guests to the proper person or resource to assist them.

v  Straighten brochures and displays during slow times.

v  Occasionally receive mail or packages

v   Additional tasks or projects as they arise or based on volunteer’s skills, interests, and time availability.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Adult volunteers are required to commit to at least 50 hours of service. Strong communication skills are required. Must take initiative to greet visitors when they enter the building. Ability to stay calm and collected during stressful situations.
