Who We Are
LSS Better Together matches volunteers with older adults in Brookings County. The goal is to reduce loneliness and social isolation for older adults.
What We Do
Our Better Together team matches adults, or “Neighbors”, age 60 and older with Volunteers who offer companionship, share resources, and build meaningful relationships to help Neighbors maintain connections and socialization as they age. Each match spends four hours a month together, enjoying activities like:
- Playing cards
- Going for a walk
- Watching a movie
- Grabbing lunch
- Shopping
- Catching up over coffee
