Bread Break

Bread Break is a food-harvesting mission that works with businesses to collect unused, otherwise discarded surplus and prepared food and distributes it to agencies which feed those in need. Bread Break is on course to rescue 400,000 pounds of food in year 2025. To date, we’ve rescued over $4,800,000 worth of edible food. We invite you to join the Food Recovery Movement!

Bread Break recovers perfectly good food that would otherwise end up in the Sioux Falls landfill. We pick up daily overages of prepared and fresh food donated by businesses like Breadico, Breadsmith, Starbucks, KFC, HyVee, Kwik Star, Little Caesar's, Farmers Market and more. Our volunteer drivers then deliver it to agencies like The Banquet, The Saint Francis House, and local food banks that serve local individuals and families in need.
