Reach Literacy

Reach Literacy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals through literacy. Based in Sioux Falls, we serve the community by providing literacy programs, fostering a love of reading, and creating opportunities for lifelong learning. Through our welcoming space, dedicated staff, and strong community partnerships, we ensure that literacy is accessible to those who need it most.

At Reach Literacy, we believe literacy is the foundation for opportunity. Our programs support learners of all ages and backgrounds, helping them develop essential reading, writing, and language skills. We offer:

Everyday English Classes – Free literacy classes for adult English Language Learners to build confidence in reading and communication.

Pre-CNA Classes – Supporting English Language Learners on the path to becoming Certified Nursing Assistants by improving literacy skills essential for the field.

Bee a Reader – A virtual mentoring program that connects volunteers with second graders for weekly Zoom sessions, fostering a love of reading and strengthening literacy skills.

Read to Succeed – One-on-one tutoring designed for learners needing specialized literacy support, particularly those with dyslexia.

Workplace Literacy – Customized literacy training to help employees improve their reading and writing skills for career success.

Reach Bookstore – A vibrant, community-driven bookstore where donated books are sold to support our literacy programs.

With over 16,000 individuals in the Sioux Empire facing literacy challenges, we strive to break down barriers and create pathways to success. Our work ensures that everyone—regardless of age, background, or ability—has the opportunity to read, learn, and thrive.
