Youth Voices in Prevention

Youth VIP is a youth-led initiative creating projects with adult support in Rapid City! Our goal is to create a safer Rapid City for and by youth. Projects and activities are in collaboration with RCAS, YFS, Teen-up, WAVI, and SD Network.

Youth voices in prevention refers to the active inclusion and empowerment of young people in designing, leading, and evaluating programs that address issues like substance abuse, mental health struggles, violence, and risky behaviors. It shifts the approach from doing things for youth to working with them as equal partners.
